Sadly it was learned today that VSJC will not operate the
Bellingham-Victoria ferry service in 2011
The always popular ferry service is believed to have suffered declining numbers as a direct result of the June 2010 border requirement for passports.
For years the ferry departing from the Port of Bellingham each May through September morning, carried passengers on a scenic 3 hr trip through the San Juan Islands to the Inner Harbour in downtown Victoria.
With a complimentary dinner on the return trip each evening, the Bellingham-Victoria ferry trip was undoubtedly one of the best "mini vacation" values in the Northwest.
Moving forward VSJC has announced that the vessel previously used on the Bellingham-Victoria route will now serve an increased service Bellingham- Friday Harbor
Vancouver Island is served by the auto/passenger ferries from Vancouver, auto/passenger ferries from Anacortes, auto/passenger ferries from Port Angeles and passenger only Seattle ferry
